The Oldie was launched in 1992 by Richard Ingrams as a sort of ‘Private Eye for grown-ups’.

Published every four weeks, it is not a magazine about retirement but a humorous magazine for those of us who feel a little culturally isolated and want to be spoken to in their language about the heroes and anti-heroes of the past. As well as lots of original features, there are reviews of books and the arts, happily balanced with our famous cartoons.

During the year, we also publish seven free supplements: the quarterly Oldie Review of Books, a round-up of reviews of the best 50 books of the quarter, Travel, Growing Old Disgracefully and our Xmas Gift Guide.

’The Oldie is an incredible magazine - perhaps the best magazine in the world right now’ Graydon Carter, Editor of Airmail and former editor of Vanity Fair.

By taking out a subscription to The Oldie you are guaranteeing that you get a burst of laughter and pithy good sense delivered to your door every four weeks.

And you save money on the shop price.
